Last year, two of our vendors took advantage of this program: The Wellness Wagon and Just Shut Up and Try It. The Wellness Wagon has since transitioned to an online marketplace for their products, along with nutrition consulting; Just Shut Up and Try It products are now available at several independent retail outlets and they continue to grow. They return to our market for the 2017 season for another year of brand building in our neighbourhood.
Over the winter, Seema partnered with another vendor, Christine Manning of Manning Canning to give the mentorship program a permanent home. Together, they developed a 5-part coaching series for food entrepreneurs, titled, Food Business Foundations. To date, approximately 20 sessions have been conducted for food entrepreneurs at Manning Canning Kitchens. The training sessions are completed for the season and will recommence in Fall 2107. However, Fairmount at Greenwood Farmers Market vendors continue to receive subsidized coaching from Seema over the summer because of the Carrot Cache grant.
Thank you, Carrot Cache for making this wonderful and well needed program available to our community!
