We believe education and participation are key. The more we know about the lives of pollinators and how to protect them, the better we can participate in saving their habitats. So this week at the market - we celebrate pollinators with some wonderful guests and activities!
Bee23: A new regular at the market Bee23 features honey and beeswax in their locally made skin-care products.
Toronto Bee Rescue: Dedicated to the humane removal and relocation of honeybee hives in Toronto and installation of new hives through partnerships with organizations. Toronto Bee rescue will have an observation hive and lots of information about their fabulous program!
Stephen Humprey: Journalist, Photographer and bee activist Stephen Humphrey will lead a pollinator walk through local gardens. Bring your camera! Meet at 6 PM at Brian Hamlin Honey.
SustainableT.O.: The innovators behind the Fairmount Royal York’s bee hotel have always been supportive of pollinator initiatives and our market! This week they will be back to build bee hotels with you. Be sure to bring long pithy (hollow) stems, milk cartons, or other vessels for building your own bee hotel.
EcoSpark: Works with communities and schools towards healthy a climate. Come learn about their fabulous programs and make some pollinator seed balls!
