The ingredients lead the way with recipes as simple as sliced tomatoes with feta and olive oil, fresh baguette, sausage on the grill with raspberries and cream for dessert. In fact, many great chefs will say the best home cooked meals have no more than 3 ingredients!
Not only are the ingredients inspiring, the farmers share their top-secret, tried and true recipes. Two weeks ago, as I delighted over the seasons first Fava Beans, Gregory from Wicklow Way shared his favourite preparation for these mammoth beans. Simply grilled over a hot fire, shelled, and seasoned! Sold! They stole the show at dinner with frosty cold beers.
We just love seeing market meal posts on social media the night of the market. Chefs, home-cooks, foodies and families are always thrilled to share the outcome of their time at the market. Market day is incredibly busy for our family, having to prep for and run the market coming home at the end of the day and celebrating with a market fresh meal that we have pieced together with seasonal ingredients is such a great reward! They are usually made quickly with very few ingredients but NEVER disappoint!
