Guest Vendor: Monarch Park Collegiate's Culinary Program Chefs in Training
Today, May 16, Chef Martin-Aller Stead and his students were on a scavenger hunt/guided tasting at St. Lawrence Market. He proudly reported that two of his students were hired to work at the market, right on the spot!
Chef Martin is working tirelessly to combat youth's misguided dedication to processed food; the menu he and his team will present on Wednesday includes these words of wisdom: "with the youth mania for fairly quick foods, and the craze that started a few years ago for "pizza pockets", we are going to be making and offering three kinds of world hand-foods ... all items that might even make Chef Petrini (of 'Slow Food' fame) happy ... Spring Rolls, Spanikopita pillows and Samosas. How much more 'Toronto' could you get?"
All proceeds from their market sales will support the culinary program.
